This Easter holiday has been really busy for us at Surrey Young Carers, with loads of different trips going on!
On the 2nd April we went to Three Peaks Activity Centre to do some activities like Crate Challenge and then spend the afternoon quad biking on their fantastic course. There was quite a lot of friendly banter going on between the rival groups, with everyone comparing how many times they had crashed, fallen off etc. We managed to get away without any serious injuries – and I think it’s fair to say that everyone enjoyed themselves!
On the 11th April a group of 12 of the finest artists Surrey Young Carers has to offer went up to the Victoria and Albert Museum for a day of being creative. In the morning we learnt all about the fashions and trends of the 1960s and then in the afternoon we were given the opportunity to design our own 60s inspired album covers. Everyone’s finished product was fantastic (maybe excluding the staff on that one!!) and we rounded off the day with a lovely ice cream! Heaven!
On the 13th April, 16 young carers went to the New Victoria Theatre Woking, to learn a bit more about the Terrible Tudors. The show was fab, with some rather catchy songs and dance moves. Everyone agreed that the best bits were when we put on the 3D glasses and we got to see the boats of the Spanish Armada get smashed to smithereens in front of our very eyes. After the show we went to M2 Pizza Pasta and had a fantastic meal! A perfect end to a brilliant day.
