| War On Want - relaunched on Joomla™ |
|
Founded in 1951 War On Want have been at the fore front of the international struggle against poverty for over 50 years. We are delighted to announce the re-launch of their web presence on the open source Joomla platform. We chose Joomkit because of their skills with Joomla plus their experience of working with similar organisations meant we could trust that they would appreciate our needs. I have found Joomkit to be very easy to work with and they have fully appreciated the requirements and values of our organisation We converted War On Want's old content management systems data to the Joomla CMS database as part of this project saving lots of manual re-entry of data. Key features of the project are:
The World Pay plug-in for Joomla lets War On Want place any no of donations forms with custom codes (e.g. appeal codes) anywhere on the site. These can then be managed in the back-end of the site. Additionally, campaigning forms for taking action were a key requirement. These are fully customisable and templatable within the Joomla system and capture and send data as required. Along with this we also developed a unique component to Joomla - a related links component which allows easy management of related links between articles - previously unavailable in the Joomla core. Tracking and performance of the site is done through Google Analytics which was also integrated into the War On Want Shop, donate pages, and World Pay payment provider. Visit: www.waronwant.org
