Spitalfields City Farm - ooh ah
Spitalfields City Farm have launched their new look site, which focuses on Animal Sponsorship and activity news. A long gestation took place for the website as the physical farm was being relocated due to the development of the East London tube network. Key to the site was the custom development of the low-tech Animal Sponsorship component.
The animal sponsorship component on the site is described as low-tech
because the organisation has not yet taken the step into online payment
processing. So to KISS (Keep It Simple Silly) I developed a make your
own form component in Joomla which lets administrators add and
categorise their animals in the backend and allows users to build and
print their own sponsorship forms.
Other features of the site include email newsletter for communicating
with supporters and notifying visitors of upcoming events, and google
maps for showing their location. The homepage items also have automatic
thumbnail images generated from the full size images in the articles. The farm is a fantastic place to visit with a myriad of projects run by
the excellent staff team. Visit them here: www.spitalfieldscityfarm.org
